Adwerx is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will assist in designing and implementing thoughtful and scalable internal controls and accounting processes to strengthen our general ledger and accounting operations functions. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can seamlessly shift from strategic thinking to tactical day-to-day operations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant at Adwerx oversees and performs general accounting functions such as preparing financial reports and analysis, providing audit support, reconciling bank accounts, reviewing and maintaining ledgers, and assisting with payroll.


  • Oversee all accounting operations: monthly close processes and reconciliations, AP, AR, and cash management
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to improve monthly close processes to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate, timely reporting
  • Regularly review internal controls and implement process improvements to insulate risk and protect company assets
  • Streamline AP processes to ensure vendor communication and expectations
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and key financial metrics reporting pack for leadership and lead investors
  • Partner with People Operations to process payroll ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
  • Assist in the annual audit with external auditors

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ideally, 4+ years of relevant experience with a mix of Big 4 or large accounting firm and small company/ start-up experience
  • CPA is a plus, but not required
